Book Within the Block

The SLA has contracted a limited number of sleeping rooms at a discounted rate at vetted properties within the closest proximity to the 2025 SLA Conference venue. Staying at these contracted hotels is highly encouraged.

When you book outside of the block or make reservations elsewhere, the SLA does not get credit for those rooms. When the minimum number of contracted rooms goes unsold, our section must pay penalty fees to the hotels. Finally, hotels other than those in our block or other accommodations, such as those found on Airbnb, have not been vetted, so the SLA cannot speak to the safety or quality of those properties.

Please reserve your room at one of the official hotels to help us keep overall conference costs as low as possible. Thank you for doing your part!

Student Housing Cooperative

The SLA is committed to keeping the 2025 SLA conference as accessible, affordable, and welcoming as possible for our student members. Toward that end, we have set up a Student Housing Cooperative, through which local students attending the conference may volunteer to host non-local student attendees in their homes, and non-local students can search for local hosts.

Local student hosts will have residences within a 60-minute commute of Ida Noyes Hall on the University of Chicago campus and plan to attend the meeting each day (Thursday–Saturday, May 29–31, 2025).

As a thank you for their assistance, local student hosts will be eligible for a registration fee waiver upon request. Take advantage of the opportunity to cut costs by joining the list and being matched with a host or visitor(s)! Please complete the forms no later than April 15, 2025.

Change of Plans?

If, after submitting the interest form, you secure alternative accommodations, are no longer able to host and/or undergo a change in the housing options you can offer, or wish to be removed from the list for any other reason, please email Nikolina (nzenovic@iu.edu), and we’ll be happy to remove your name.

Disclaimer: Please note that specific requests will be honored to the extent possible. Because of limited availability, we cannot guarantee that we will be able to match you to housing that meets all of your specific preferences. The SLA is not responsible for any liability that may arise from voluntary matching made via the student housing cooperative.
